Shelley Earns Space Scholars Award
The Space Vehicles Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base has selected ECE graduate student Severn Shelley for a 2009 Space Scholars summer internship.
Severn is currently developing a reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna to be controlled by an FPGA. He is working under the direction of his faculty advisor, Professor Christos Christodoulou.
Severn received his BS in Electrical Engineering from BYU in April 2008 and is currently in his second semester of graduate studies with ECE@UNM. This will be the second Space Scholars grant won by Shelley, who also interned under that program in the summer of 2008.
The Air Force Research Lab appoints students to the Space Scholar Program in order to give students access to some of the lab's vast resources and contact with bleeding edge research.
Congratulations, Sev!
