Mendonca Earns Space Scholar Award

ECE graduate student Cassandra Mendonca has been selected for a 2009 Space Scholars summer internship in the Directed Energy Program of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base.

Mendonca received her BS in Electrical Engineering from ECE in December 2007 and is currently in her first semester of graduate studies. Her faculty advisor is Professor Edl Schamiloglu, and she also works with ECE Research Professor Christopher Watts on ionosphere reconstruction using GPS topography.

The Air Force Space Scholars Program gives students an opportunity for close interaction with the lab's highly regarded researchers, who function as mentors to the students as they carry out their research.

Congratulations, Cassandra!
