From 2000 to 2005, Joler worked with Professor Christos Christodoulou in ECE's Antennas & Computational Electromagnetics Laboratory. He worked as a research and teaching assistant at ECE, and he received the UNM Graduate Office's 2001 Research, Proposal, and Travel Award. He also served as session co-chair of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society/URSI 2006 Symposium in Albuquerque.
Joler undertook postdoctoral work in 2006 with Portland State University, Oregon, where he served as a postdoctoral research associate at the school's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering while also teaching in its Department of Physics.
In July 2007, Joler joined the Faculty of Engineering (RiTech) at the University of Rijeka, Croatia, where he was appointed assistant professor in December 2007. His position as CompE chair is with Rijeka's Faculty of Engineering (RiTech). As of November he is also serving as adjunct assistant professor with the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the university.
Joler's industry experience includes serving as an RF engineer with the Transmitters and Links Division of Croatian Radio and Television from 1996 to 1999, where he worked on analysis of terrain coverage by TV and radio signals, network planning, and design of new broadcast towers and antenna systems.
Currently, Joler is a member and reviewer of the IEEE Antennas & Propagation Society, a reviewer for Scientific Journals International, and an evaluator, reviewer and monitor with the EU 7th Research Framework Programme. His current research interests include adaptive antennas, computational electromagnetics, biomedical applications of electromagnetics, EMC/EMI, and novel electronic circuits.
Bravo, Dr. Joler!
